Can you start your online business using free affiliate marketing techniques? Quite simply the answer is "Yes". Now when I say free, you may need to be willing to invest a small amount in your education, and this should not be something you skimp on. However beyond this it is possible for you to start an online business through affiliate marketing without the need to spend money arranging hosting, purchasing a domain name, building a website and even without spending money promoting your product of choice.

Now don't get me wrong all the advice surrounding having your own website, arranging hosting, building a list are all valid, but if you want to get some money behind you before you commit to all this expenditure, you can! So where would you start your free affiliate marketing business? You're first step would be to visit Click bank and sign up for a free affiliate account.

When you find a product to promote you create what is called an hoplink, basically this is your very own affiliate link. So what next, well in the absence of having a website how will you promote and what will you use as your marketing hub?

There are no shortage of alternatives that can be used for this purpose and back to that in a moment, but first you would want to visit Google's external keyword tool to determine what people are searching for in relation to your niche. So for example, lets say it was "Dog training", you would type this in and Google would return the search volume of keywords related to the term "Dog Training".

In an ideal world you would look for keywords with decent search volume and low competition, having chosen a number of these you would then write two or three articles based on some of the keywords you discovered. Don't get concerned about writing, use other articles for inspiration and rewrite in your own words. How about Private label articles, search for ones related to your niche and rewrite them.

These will provide the content to build a network of sites and methods of promoting. So this is what you would do with the articles!

1. Set up a Weebly blog, blogger blog and possibly a wetpaint blog. You would use at least one of the articles to post a blog post and then promote through sites such as dig, delicious and social book marking sites like Pingoat and Pingomatic. In doing so you start to get back links and visitors back to your blogs

2. Next step is to set up a Squidoo lens and an hub page, these are very popular sites that attract sizeable amounts of traffic. It is important to have sufficient articles that are either completely different or are re-written slightly from one method of promotion to another, so that you are using the content available to you to its best ability.

You would also link your blogs to your Squidoo and hub page. Then you would submit your Squidoo lens and Hub page through Pingoat and pingomatic, constantly building more links through your ever growing network of sites.

3.Following this there are free press release sites that can be used with links back to your marketing hubs, and you can also make videos to submit through YouTube, Google, Metcalf, Viddler and so on. These don't have to be master pieces and can be simply yourself reading one or more of your articles, then linking back through to your blogs.

The strategies outlined here all make free affiliate marketing possible, these techniques don't stop with this free strategy alone, they are also appropriate if you do possess your own web site.

Its obviously impossible to illustrate in an article how this works fully, but don't let anyone tell you that its not possible to start with a free affiliate marketing business.
